Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. These tools run in your browser and process each image on your own device — nothing is sent anywhere. That is the point when the image is a personal photo or unreleased work: even the background remover and upscaler, which use AI models, run locally in the page rather than calling a cloud service.
What is EXIF metadata, and why would I remove it?
EXIF is data your camera or phone writes into a photo: the device model, the date, camera settings and often the exact GPS coordinates where it was taken. That travels with the file when you share it. Stripping EXIF before posting removes your location and device fingerprint; the EXIF viewer shows you what is there first.
Should I save as JPG, PNG or WebP?
JPG for photographs, where its compression is efficient and the lack of transparency does not matter. PNG when you need a transparent background or crisp text and lines, at a larger file size. WebP usually beats both on size at the same quality and supports transparency, so it is the best choice for the web when your target browsers support it — which today is nearly all of them.
