When to use it
Ran 10 km in 52 minutes and want to know your pace? Pick Pace mode, enter 10 km and 52:00, and you get 5:12 per km along with a speed of 11.54 km/h. Use it to check your splits before a race, plan a target finish time from a goal pace, or work out how far you can cover in a set training window.
Frequently asked questions
How does the pace calculator work?
Enter any two of the three values, distance, time, and pace, and the calculator derives the third using simple division. Switch modes to choose which value it solves for.
What is a good running pace for beginners?
It varies widely by fitness level, but many new runners average somewhere between 6:30 and 8:00 per km (about 10:30 to 13:00 per mile) on easy training runs. Race pace is typically faster and depends on distance and experience.
Does the calculator work in miles as well as kilometers?
Yes. Toggle the unit switch to miles and every field, including pace and speed, updates to use miles instead of kilometers.
Can I use this for walking or cycling pace too?
Yes. The math is the same for any activity, distance, time, and pace, so it works just as well for walking, hiking, or cycling splits.
Can I share this tool with my inputs pre-filled?
Yes. The URL updates automatically as you type. Copy it from the address bar or use the Copy link button, and anyone who opens the link will see your exact inputs ready to go.
