Frequently asked questions
How is a discount amount calculated?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage and divide by 100. An $80 item at 25% off saves you $20, since 80 x 25 / 100 = 20.
How do I find the final price after a discount?
Subtract the discount amount from the original price. On that same $80 item, $80 minus the $20 discount leaves a final price of $60.
Can I stack two discounts, like 20% off plus an extra 10%?
Apply the first discount, then run the resulting price through the calculator again with the second percentage. Stacked discounts multiply rather than add, so 20% off followed by 10% off is not the same as 30% off in one step.
