What is Strikethrough Text Generator
This generator adds a line through, under or over your text using Unicode combining marks. The result is not markdown or a font, it is real characters that carry the line with them, so you can copy the text and paste it into an Instagram bio, a WhatsApp message, a Discord chat or a document and the strikethrough stays. Frequently asked questions
Will the strikethrough show everywhere?
On most modern apps and devices, yes. The line is made of standard combining characters that Instagram, WhatsApp, Discord, X and word processors render. A few very old systems may show it slightly off, so preview before posting somewhere important.
Is this the same as markdown strikethrough?
No. Markdown uses ~~tildes~~ that only work where markdown is supported. This tool makes the line part of the characters themselves, so it survives a plain copy and paste into apps that have no formatting at all.
Can I remove the line later?
The line is built into the characters, so there is no toggle to turn it off on text you already pasted. Just retype or paste the plain version to go back to normal text.
