What is Merge PDF Files
This merge PDF tool combines several PDF files into a single document, entirely in your browser. It runs on the pdf-lib library, so your files are read and merged locally: nothing is uploaded to any server, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Each file you add appears in a list with its name, page count and size, and the pages of the merged PDF follow the order of that list.
How to use
- Drop your PDF files into the upload area, or click it to pick them from your device.
- Review the list: each file shows its name, page count and size, and you can add more files or remove one at any point.
- Arrange the files with the up and down buttons; the merged document follows the list order.
- Click the merge button and download the combined PDF.

Frequently asked questions
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. Merging happens in your browser with the pdf-lib library, so the files never leave your device. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works without an internet connection.
Is there a limit on the number or size of files?
There is no fixed limit. The practical constraint is your browser's memory, so merging a very large batch of PDFs may slow down on low-end devices.
Does merging change the quality or formatting of my pages?
No. Pages are copied into the new document unchanged, without recompression, so text, images and layout stay exactly as they were.
Can I change the order of the pages?
You can change the order of the files: move them up or down in the list before merging, and the pages follow that order. Reordering individual pages inside a file is not possible here.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
No. Encrypted PDFs cannot be read by the merger. Remove the password first, then add the unlocked file.
Is the tool free, and does it add a watermark?
