IP Address Lookup
What is IP Address Lookup
The IP Address Lookup tool gives you detailed information about any IPv4 or IPv6 address. Enter an IP address to see its geographic location (country, city, coordinates), network details (ISP, organization, ASN number), and timezone data including the current local time. Leave the field blank to instantly see information about your own IP address.
How to use
- Leave the input blank and click 'Look Up' to see your own IP address details.
- Enter any valid IPv4 (e.g. 8.8.8.8) or IPv6 address in the input field.
- Click 'Look Up' to fetch the data.
- Review results across three sections: Location, Network, and Timezone.
- Click the map link to view the estimated location, or 'Copy all' to save all data to clipboard.
When to use it
Seeing unfamiliar hits in your server logs from 103.21.244.0? Look it up and you get Cloudflare's network (ASN AS13335, ISP: Cloudflare Inc.) in San Francisco, USA, with is_eu false and the type flagged as IPv4. That context tells you the traffic is legitimate, so you can exclude it from your spam filter instead of chasing a false alarm.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the IP address location?
IP geolocation is accurate to country level in nearly all cases (99%+), and accurate to city level in roughly 50–80% of cases depending on ISP data. It reflects the location of the ISP's infrastructure, not necessarily the physical location of the person using the IP.
Can I look up my own IP address?
Yes. Leave the input field blank and click 'Look Up' — the tool auto-detects your current public IP address and shows all available information.
What is an ASN?
An Autonomous System Number (ASN) is a unique identifier assigned to a network or group of networks under a single administrative entity (like an ISP or company). It is used by internet routing protocols to direct traffic between networks.
Why does the location show a different city than where I am?
IP geolocation shows the location of your ISP's infrastructure, not your physical location. Mobile users may see their carrier's main hub city, and VPN users will see the VPN server's location.
Does this tool support IPv6?
Yes. Paste any IPv6 address into the input field and click 'Look Up'. Both full and compressed IPv6 formats are accepted.
