Audio

3 tools

Two tools for practising an instrument, both running in your browser. Keep time with a metronome you can set to any tempo and time signature, and tune your guitar, violin or any instrument with a tuner that listens through your microphone and shows the note and how far off you are. Nothing to download, and the metronome can be embedded on your own site.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tuner record or upload audio from my microphone?

No. The tuner needs microphone access to hear the note you play, but the audio is analysed live in your browser and never recorded or sent anywhere. Your browser asks permission the first time; the sound is turned into a pitch reading on your device and then discarded.

Can I put the metronome on my own website?

Yes. The metronome is embeddable — open "Embed this tool" under the widget to copy an iframe snippet you can paste into any page. It keeps working offline once loaded, and you can pass a theme parameter to match your site's light or dark mode.

How accurate is the metronome timing?

The metronome is scheduled through the browser's Web Audio clock, which is far steadier than a plain timer, so the beat stays tight even while the tab does other work. In practice the timing is precise enough for rehearsal and recording reference.
